TIME OF USE changes twice a year. Saving the most money you can on utilities is a great way to cut out some expensive bills coming in. Want to know more about what time of use is? Check it out HERE
This Time of Use chart is only for Ontario. For other provinces, there are different rates.
It looks like the Time of Use charges haven’t changed much since the last chart came out.
Here is the TIME OF USE CHART to save all the money you can on your HYDRO bill!
The peak and off-peak rates effective May 1 and November 1 are.
Green: 6.5 cents/off-peak
Yellow: 9.4 cents/mid-peak …
Orange: 13.4 cents/on-peak
These peak times change with the two seasons, Summer and Winter.
Using your hydro during on-peak is twice as costly as off-peak. Cut your hydro bill by using your dishwasher/washer/dryer/appliances, etc. during off-peak hours.
Always start your dishwasher and do laundry after 7 at night or on weekends or holidays to save money. Air conditioners are one of the biggest expenses you can have. Use them only when necessary to save money.
Here are some tips to cut those electricity bills. Check out Hydro’s Residential Conservation page for tips!
HOLIDAY TIME OF USE
Time-Of-Use (TOU) rates are the fixed electricity prices* charged to all Regulated Price Plan customers, both residential and small business (electricity demand is less than 50 kW), in the Alectra Utilities (formerly PowerStream) service territory. TOU pricing varies based on the time of day and week customers use electricity.
TOU Prices – Summer – May 1, 2019 – October 31, 2019
TOU Prices – Winter – November 1, 2019 – April 30, 2020
Holiday Schedule for Time-of-Use Prices
Electricity used on weekends and holidays is charged the off-peak price during both the Winter and Summer periods.
Off-peak prices are in effect on 2019-2020 holidays
**Note: If a holiday falls on a weekend, the following Monday will have off-peak prices in effect all day.
