File Your Canadian Tax Returns for Free!

It’s coming around to tax season again. And that means getting your taxes filled out and sent in to Revenue Canada. Revenue Canada has some great information on their website.

If it looks foreign to you, there’s hope. Lots of companies offer free tax return programs online for your use. And they’re really simple to use. It’s as easy as filling out the forms and following the instructions.

To make things easier and save you even more money, Canadian Savings group has compiled a list of all current companies that are certified by Revenue Canada for Income Tax software that can be used to compile your income tax return.

NETFILE is an electronic tax-filing service that allows you to send your individual income tax and benefit return directly to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) using the Internet and a NETFILE-certified software product. The following companies provide tax software for your use. Some may be free, some for very little cost.

There are plenty of paid programs if you wish to use them. Most of them are either found in stores, or online.

There are also resources in some areas to get help with returns including free tax clinics in some cities/towns. It’s worth looking into if you’re not sure how to do your income tax and can’t afford to have it done by a firm.
