Money Coming In – Class Action Suit for Prepaid Mastercards

We posted a Class Action Lawsuit in our group back in the spring, and the cheques and auto-deposits are now coming in at the end of October.

It has taken quite some time but they will be in within a few weeks.

If you’ve received one of these emails, telling you you’ll be receiving money from the Class Action Lawsuit against the Peoples Trust, then it is a legitimate action and not a scam. Most people will get around $216 and possibly more or less depending on how many cards you claimed you bought.

CHECK YOUR JUNK FOLDER!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. MOST PEOPLE’S HAVE GONE TO THEIR JUNK FOLDER AS THIS ISN’T A REGULAR EMAIL THEY GET.

A lawsuit was commenced against Peoples Trust on behalf of Ontario consumers who purchased or received prepaid gift cards. The plaintiff and defendants have settled the lawsuit for $17,000,000.

Ontario consumers who were Peoples Trust prepaid Visa or MasterCard payment cardholders between November 29, 2011 and April 30, 2014 may be entitled to a share of this settlement.

On January 20th, 2022, the Court approved a motion to increase payout amounts to eligible claimants in the Prepaid Gift Cards Class Action.

The last day to submit a claim was April 30th, 2022.

You will probably receive another email once your auto-deposit has been done or your cheque has been mailed out.
