The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will be making CCBYCS payments on the following dates: May 28, 2021 (includes amounts for January and April),July 30, 2021 October 29, 2021. These payments are issued separately from the CCB payments you already receive.
On May 6, 2021 Bill C-14 was passed. This Bill is to help support Canadian families with young children, recent grads and businesses being hit the hardest by the pandemic. What does this mean for you and your family though.
• Immediate support for low- and middle-income families who are entitled to the Canada Child Benefit. Up to an additional $1,200 for each child under the age of six will be provided. This temporary assistance will be distributed in the coming weeks.
• Waiving interest on Canada Student Loans’ and Canada Apprentice Loans’ the federal portion until March 2022.
• Amending the Income Tax Act to allow the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy to recognize rent payable as an eligible expense.
