Shopping After Long Weekends

With the rising costs of everything, we need to save wherever we can. If possible I always check the local grocery stores after a long weekend to see what discounts are available. Meat and perishables are usually the ones that are more expensive and with discounts on these products, it’s a good time to buy them if you can.

I took pictures to demonstrate the great prices on meat and other perishables after a long weekend.

Due to the extra day that the grocery store is closed, perishable goods lose a day of being sold and thus on the Tuesday morning after a long weekend, so many % off (PINK) stickers get placed on the items that have one to two days left on their best-before stickers.

Look for pink stickers, check the end caps, end bunkers and even clearance sections in your store for discounted products! And, don’t forget to check the expiry date on products.

This is always a great time to stock up on meats and other items that can go into the freezer like fruit from the discount cart. Combine with points offers and you’re really saving!

So keep this in mind for the next long weekend!
