Prescription Dispensing Fees!

There is quite a variation on dispensing fees at pharmacies across Canada and within each province.

To save money on prescriptions the best way to do that is to cut down on the dispensing fee if you can, since you can’t cut the cost of the actual prescription.

If you’re not pharmacy loyal, or store loyal, then checking out some of the disparities in dispensing fees might help give you an idea of how to save some money.

Although we’ve only included a brief chart of the dispensing fees for Ontario and British Columbia, it’s easy to see that Costco beats out most pharmacies for dispensing fees.

For prescriptions, YOU DO NOT NEED A MEMBERSHIP to obtain prescriptions. However to shop for anything else at Costco, you DO NEED a membership.

Simply let them know at the door when you enter that you’re there to get prescriptions and you do not need to show a membership.

This is a great way to save some money on prescriptions if you choose to get your prescriptions at Costco.

But the charts below will give you a general idea of how much you’re paying for dispensing fees. If you’re unsure in your province, simply ask your pharmacist, or shop around to save money.
